Officer Reily

Some of my friends just got done shooting a student film called "Officer Reily." The guy above is Reily, a crazed, dingus cop who makes everything in life more difficult than it should be.

Girl Scout Cookies

I don't really know what's going on here...

Anyways, it's been a hot second since I've posted. I don't like that! I missed my own blog's birthday. It's been a whole stinkin' year! Happy birthday blog! Here are some girl scout cookies.

Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I feel like this is what Scooby-Doo would look like if he were turned into a Werewolf.

"Gross" is a video I made for my Drawing class in which I had to make 144 drawings about something I found disgusting.

This is Heavy

This is my latest edition to the Calicocat family. They are just about to release their first physical CD and I'm super pumped and honored to be a part of the process. Check em out here.

The Summer Initiative

The time has finally come, folks. School is back in session and summer break is officially over. Time for villains everywhere to to pick back up on what they work so hard on: being evil.

So for my last villain, I chose Benjamin Linus. Chances are, a lot of you either have no idea who he is or you hate LOST. But for those of you who are enlightened, you can join me in celebrating this guy. He's actually my favorite villain and he's sort of what inspired me to start this project.

I guess that's all the doctor ordered.

Welcome Back

I've been working for my school's newspaper, The Daily Beacon, quite a bit this summer doing layout design, illustration, and comics. We recently put out our 60+ page "Welcome Back" issue and I had the opportunity to do the section illustrations.

Fishing on Swan Lake

Hey dudes and dudettes. Sorry this is so late. I've been moving this week and getting a lot of stuff organized.

We see The Black Swan and her pal taking it easy on Swan Lake after too much dance practice.

Next week is the final villain! Wonder who it will be!

Villain's Family Dinner

For my 13th villain, I picked Count Olaf of the 13 unfortunate events. After a long day's work of burning down carnivals and hotels, Olaf just wants to enjoy a pleasant dinner with the kids. Look, Sunny prepared a roast all by herself!

Brett Helquist, the illustrator of Lemony Snicket's genius series, is one of my favorites. This is my shameful attempt at paying homage.

Face Tests

Face Tests from Alex Cline on Vimeo.

It's been a hot minute since I've exported anything animation. Right now, I'm in the process of working on a short film/animation with my friend, Warren Smythe. The above is a series of rough animation tests to get a sense of how our character moves and talks. The actual film will be without the white frame and will have color (also, no yucky pencil lines). Look for the final thing sometime in the near future!

These are two illustrations I made for Avid Gardener.

Gold Bracelets and Brewskies

Ok, so maybe it's a stretch to call Uncle Rico a villain, but he is sort of the bane of Napoleon's existence. Plus, I had to pay tribute to one of the most important movie's of my teenage process. So, how 'bout some gold bracelets?

Magneto's Summit

Magneto and Mystique were bored and tired of trying to destroy the human population.  They set off for a hike!

This piece is the result of going on a sunset hike and watching new Adventure Time in the same week.

Colonel Catches Rays

Colonel Hans Landa, one deviously chill dude, lounges on a floaty in Hitler's pool. He deserves some sun after his plans were thwarted by the Basterds.

Calicocat Art

I recently just completed two album covers for Calicocat's new songs "Unnatural Oasis" and "Tile Grey Paint."  I'm pretty satisfied with these, and I feel like I went out of my comfort zone a little bit.

Go check out Calicocat's new songs here! They are soooo good!

My poor bike.  I have neglected it so.  I really need to get it fixed...
